9/10 EdTech Operators, at Least Once, Said: 'We Democratize Education!',

..or Democrati(s)e 😉. EdTech has helped democratize education, yet its impact is uneven: transformative in some markets, limited in others. A slogan that once powered founders’ visions now competes with the realities of scaling; reminding us that access and impact must move in lockstep.

I’ve worked across a few industries, but with 13+ years in EdTech, this is where my strengths compound; and where domain expertise translates directly into impact.

Why it Matters to Me

I grew up in 1990s–2000s Poland, just after the shift from communism to markets. Public schools worked only “so-so,” while EdTech was only beginning to appear. By secondary school, access began to split: families who could afford extra tutoring pulled ahead.

Why EdTech Matters to the World

EdTech isn’t about growth at all costs. It’s about widening access so more people can reach meaningful learning, whether formal or informal. Its real value lies in opening doors where opportunity is still uneven.

Through EdTech at Scale into the AI Era

Over the last decade into today’s AI era, the sector delivered many wins: more affordable access at scale, new modes of delivery. Yet it also created new challenges: students and parents often struggle to judge what’s credible in an overwhelming stream of content.
